Thann Spa

My shoulders were telling me I was in need of a serious massage, so I got myself to Thann Spa.  It’s not the cheapest massage in Saigon, but it’s luxurious, professional, and I love the products they use – from the Thann Spa range, of course.  For me, it’s always a toss up between ‘Oriental Wood’ and ‘Aromatic Essence’ – a good problem to have! The spa on Nguyen Du street is the closest to me, though I heard there is now also a branch at the Pullman Saigon.

The reception area is actually the lobby of the Nguyen Du Park Villas residence, but it’s not as strange as it sounds.  After walking up the stairs from the street you enter an open area with a courtyard feel –  full of large pot plants and beautiful asian-style wooden furniture, with glimpses of tree tops between huge sweeping curtains.  The iced tea (lemongrass?) and cold towel help melt away the chaos of District 1.

The therapists speak only very basic English, so if you have any specific questions or concerns I’d suggest discussing them with the staff at the desk first.  I don’t really like facials, and Thann don’t do nails (such a shame!), but the massages & scrubs I’ve had have all been really great.  This might sound weird, but I just adore outdoor showers, so the pre- and post-treatment shower (did I mention the yummy products?) is actually one of the highlights for me!
